iAnnotate PDF Help Center: FAQs
How do I Change the Default Annotation Color?
Many of iAnnotate’s annotation commands have default colors (e.g., red for Pencil, yellow for Highlighter, black for Typewriter). You can alter the color of a finished annotation by tapping on it and then selecting Color in the Annotation Ribbon to the upper-right.
To create an annotation with a default color other than the color preset for it by iAnnotate, you can:
- Tap the wrench icon at the top of the specific Toolbar to which the command will be added OR open the Toolbar Drawer and tap the gear icon at the top of that toolbar.
- Under the Annotation tab in the Command Library, tap the command whose color you wish to set (e.g., Add Note of a specific Color, Add Bookmark of a specific Color, etc.) and drag it into the Toolbar.
- Select the desired color from the HSB map and (for some annotations, such as Highlighter) adjust its thickness and transparency with the sliders below. After finishing, you have an annotation that defaults to those color settings.
