How do I obtain an iPad Crash Report?

If iAnnotate has crashed, you may wish to obtain an iPad crash report via your PC or Mac:

  • Sync your iPad with iTunes. This copies the crash log to your computer.
  • Locate the crash log in the appropriate folder:
    • Mac OS X: ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/MobileDevice/DeviceName
    • Windows 7 and Vista: C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Apple computer\Logs\CrashReporter\MobileDevice\DeviceName
    • Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Application Data\Apple computer\Logs\CrashReporter\DeviceName
    • Note that on Windows, Application Data or AppData is often hidden, so you may need to show hidden folders or type the path name directly in order to find the folder.
  • The log file names start with "iAnnotate" and have the extension “crash.”
  • Match the date/time of the crash log with the incident you encountered, before submitting it to our engineering team.
