FAQ

  • iAnnotate for Intune works by allowing you to build organization-specific data-leakage and security policies. This includes document workflows and storage locations (like OneDrive for Business).

The portal then generates a license key, which includes licensing and security/workflow settings. That license key is passed to the iAnnotate app through an Intune AppConfig policy. There is no connectivity between the portal and your environment.

  • Your organization’s data lives on device within the iAnnotate application container and (if permitted) in your M365 tenant. Folia does not have access to your data at any time. In addition, iAnnotate app does not log or collect any data.

  • You have the option to disable unapproved storage locations and other data leakage conduits by configuring iAnnotate within our portal. When prompted to save a file, this will prevent any unapproved storage location or app from being shown as an option.

  • iAnnotate encrypts the data that is persistently stored on-device. This is in addition to the hardware level encryption that’s provided by default on iOS devices. We leverage the Intune SDK for encryption (AES 256) of application data.
